Javelin is a high performance bull that is naturally very correct and moves out really well. He is a thick, heavy muscled, strong topped, well marked bull. He was produced by Gary Witherspoon. Javelin is out of Gary's 710 foundation cow and sired by Decathlete.

This cow has consistently produced thick, correct, top producing progeny. Many of her bulls are herd bulls around the country and all of the females have produced well. Some have gone on to be donor females in herds such as Star Lake and Witherspoons' Nizhoni Herefords.

This particular mating, 710 to Decathlete, has worked especially well. There have been several calves from this flush and all have done well in combining the best of sire and dam, but out of all of these calves, Javelin is particularly remarkable. Beyond his phenotype, easy movement, and pedigree, what catches your eye most is his exceptional performance. His growth is huge. He weighed 96 pounds at birth, has an adjusted 205-day weight of 901 pounds and weighed 1190 pounds on 11/01/00 - 4 days shy of being 10 months old. Additionally, on 11/01/00 he was 51¾ inches tall, which is a frame 7.5. This combination of consistency, phenotype and performance make this bull a powerful genetic tool and one that we plan to use heavily here at Quick Mill Farms.
