9814 is a very interesting calving ease bull. He had a 71-pound birth weight yet finished in the top 6 highest performance for yearling weight out of 25 Polled Hereford bulls on the WCA/WSU Bull Test. He is structurally very correct and though he has no pigment around the eyes they are deep set which may be more important. He has been used on cows and heifers at Fork Tree, Fern Ridge and Witherspoon's Nizhoni Herefords and their first calves by 9814 look great. They are low to moderate birth weights with lots of vigor and thickness. His dam, 98U, is an exceptional young cow with an excellent udder. It also appears from what we have seen that he settled on the first service with every cow and heifer he bred last year. Calving ease, fertility and great length of body, combined with very good performance are the strengths of this young bull. We are using him on our Z03 and Decathlete daughters as well as most of our heifers. He should work very well on them.
